The painting was inspired by Japanese folding screens.
The work is a visualization of how the rising morning sun instigates the clouds to evaporate on the side of the mountain.

In this painting I was inspired by Greek mythology. The goddess Astraea is the personification of justice, deterred by the atrocities of the people. She chose to establish herself in heaven.
In my painting it is about the hope that one day she will descend from the heavens and have faith again in the goodness of mankind.

The serenity of the ballerina inspired me to place her underneath the cherry blossom. This is the representation of pure enjoyment. She is swept up in a moment that is transitioning before her eyes, like the sunshine piercing trough the clouds creating a unique momentum
